Our Proof-of-Concept Projects
We are proud to present our proof-of-concept projects. These initiatives aim to revolutionise the lives of diverse communities by providing them with the tools, resources and support they need to thrive in the digital age.
We believe that access to digital is not a luxury, but a fundamental right for all individuals, regardless of their socio-economic background. Our mission is to eradicate digital poverty by 2030 and create innovative programs that empower communities through technology.
The Projects
Tech4Youth
Young people need digital tools to succeed academically and professionally in today’s world. Tech4Youth equips participants with laptops, internet access, and invites them to local skills workshops, enabling them to tackle homework, prepare CVs, and develop essential digital skills. Expanded to Solway, with the support of the Macquarie Foundation and Voneus, this programme continues to extend vital resources to even more youth in need, helping them unlock future opportunities and thrive in the digital age.
Tech4Families
In today’s digital age, access to technology is crucial for families to stay connected, succeed, and grow. Tech4Families, a collaboration between Currys and the Digital Poverty Alliance, delivers laptops and tablets to families who lack them. This programme not only provides essential technology, but also offers insights into how a laptop transforms a household previously reliant solely on smartphones for internet access. Families can now thrive more effectively in an increasingly connected world.
Tech4Teachers
Teachers are pivotal in shaping the next generation, and access to technology is essential for their success. Tech4Teachers is a transformative programme that equips educators with the digital tools, skills, and resources they need to deliver high-quality, tech-enhanced education. By empowering teachers with modern technology, we help unlock the potential of future generations, ensuring that every student benefits from an inclusive, technology-driven learning experience, regardless of their circumstances.
Tech4Schools
Digital inequality continues to hinder the progress of millions of school children across the UK, especially in disadvantaged communities. Tech4Schools addresses this challenge by providing schools in deprived areas with access to devices and digital skills training. By delivering the tools necessary for learning, the programme helps bridge the growing divide, giving students the opportunity to excel academically. This ultimately improves educational outcomes for children in areas most affected by inequality.
Tech4PrisonLeavers
Rebuilding life after incarceration is a difficult journey, especially for those excluded from the digital world. Tech4PrisonLeavers tackles this challenge by providing prison leavers with laptops, along with comprehensive digital literacy training and ongoing support. By equipping former inmates with the tools and skills they need to succeed, we empower them to reintegrate into society, seek employment, and build brighter futures. This programme aims to remove barriers to success and break the cycle of exclusion.
Tech4YoungCarers
Young carers face unique challenges that extend beyond their caregiving responsibilities, often lacking the digital resources to thrive. Tech4YoungCarers, launched by the Digital Poverty Alliance with support from E2BN, offers more than just technology. This programme provides laptops, internet access, and digital skills training tailored to meet the specific needs of young carers aged 14-25 across Fenland, South Cambridgeshire, and Huntingdonshire. Through this initiative, we aim to empower young carers.
