From 7 to 13 September 2026, End Digital Poverty Day becomes End Digital Poverty Week, expanding one of the Digital Poverty Alliance (DPA)’s most important annual moments into a full week of activity across the UK.

Launched by the DPA in 2023, End Digital Poverty Day has created a shared point in the calendar to raise awareness of digital poverty and the practical action needed to end it. This year, during the DPA’s 25^th anniversary year, that moment is growing.

Digital poverty affects how people learn, work, manage money, access essential services and stay connected. It can mean not having a suitable device, being unable to afford connectivity, lacking confidence online, or not knowing where to turn for support.

End Digital Poverty Week gives more space to show those realities clearly, recognise the work already happening, and bring more people into the national effort to end digital poverty.

What is happening in 2026

Across the week, people, communities, partners and organisations will be invited to take part in ways that reflect their own work and networks.

This could include hosting a workshop, webinar, panel discussion or community event, running a fundraiser, sharing campaign content, donating unused devices, telling a local story, or signing the DPA’s Charter for Digital Inclusion.

Activity will be promoted across DPA channels (print and digital) as part of a wider effort to show the range of action taking place across the UK.

Communications and Fundraising Toolkit

Our Communications and Fundraising Toolkit has been created to help you take part in End Digital Poverty Week.

It includes campaign messaging, suggested social media content, fundraising guidance, donation information and ideas for activity across the week. Use it to raise awareness, support fundraising, share your plans and encourage others to get involved.

Gala Reception and Digital Inclusion Awards

The End Digital Poverty Gala Reception will take place from 6.30pm to 9pm on Thursday 10 September at the Royal Watercolour Society Gallery in London.

The reception will also include the announcement and recognition of the 2026 Digital Inclusion Award winners, celebrating Charter signatories whose work is widening access, strengthening skills, improving services and building partnerships.
