A National Day of Focus and Action

On Friday 12 September, End Digital Poverty Day returns for its third year – mobilising action across the UK to confront one of the country’s most urgent and overlooked inequalities.

Launched by the Digital Poverty Alliance in 2023, this national initiative is designed to accelerate practical efforts to close the digital divide. It is not about awareness in isolation. It is about alignment, visibility, and the kind of joined-up action that translates into measurable change.

What is Happening in 2025

In the lead-up to 12 September – and throughout the day itself – organisations working at every level of digital inclusion are hosting a coordinated series of events. These include live webinars, skill-building workshops, roundtable discussions, and educational sessions – both online and in person.

Each is focused on one purpose: turning digital inclusion from a policy commitment into something people can see, use, and access in their daily lives. Events will be promoted across our platforms as part of a nationwide effort to show what is possible when work on the ground is connected, visible, and shared.

Planning Something? Share Your Plans with Us

If you are planning to mark End Digital Poverty Day – whether through a campaign, public event, or internal activity – share your plans with us. We can help extend their reach, connect them to the national conversation, and ensure your work is visible within the wider effort.

To share your plans or request communications support, please contact Joel Tiller, Head of External Affairs.

Fundraising

End Digital Poverty Day is also an opportunity to raise funds for work that delivers impact – from grassroots community programmes to national initiatives improving digital access and skills.

Our Communications and Fundraising Toolkit includes templates and guidance to help you run an effective fundraiser and make the case for digital inclusion as a priority for your organisation, community, or network.

Gala Reception

The day concludes with the 2025 Gala Reception – an evening gathering for those leading work to improve digital inclusion across the UK. Held at Bankside Gallery on London’s South Bank, the event brings together leaders from across policy, practice, and lived experience.

This year’s Gala also marks the launch of the Digital Inclusion Awards Reception – a new national platform to recognise measurable impact. Open to all signatories of our Charter for Digital Inclusion, the Awards highlight work that is delivering change – locally, nationally, and systemically.

The 2025 Gala Reception is sponsored by Currys, whose continued partnership supports the DPA’s mission to embed digital inclusion into national strategy – and ensure no one is left behind.
