Donate devices to the Digital Poverty Alliance
Join us in addressing the pressing issue of digital poverty by donating your (or your organisation’s) old or unused devices such as laptops, smartphones, or tablets to the Digital Poverty Alliance.
By partnering with strategic suppliers, we ensure that all devices donated are recycled responsibly, while those in good condition are refurbished and redistributed through one of our proof of concept projects. Together, we can make a significant impact on ending digital poverty and empowering communities in need. The suppliers we use have ADISA accreditation, ensuring that they have demonstrated full compliance with information security best practice, and are able to provide standard documentation to you around the devices.
📱💻 Why Donate?
Many individuals and communities across the UK struggle with digital poverty, lacking access to essential technology and internet connectivity. By donating your old devices, you can contribute directly to our proof of concept projects that aim to tackle this issue. Your generosity enables us to provide the necessary tools for individuals, schools, teachers, and prison leavers, opening up new opportunities and fostering digital inclusion.

Our Proof of Concept Projects
1️⃣ Tech4Teachers: Empowering Educators
Through Tech4Teachers, we equip educators from select schools across the UK with refurbished or new devices, enabling them to access digital resources outside of school, enhance their teaching methods and provide a richer learning experience for their students. By donating your devices, you can directly support teachers to have digital access both at home and at school, to effectively teach the next generation.
2️⃣Tech4PrisonLeavers: Empowering Reintegration
Tech4PrisonLeavers aims to support individuals who are transitioning from the prison system back into society. By donating your devices, you help us provide young-ex offenders with access to technology and digital skills for education, job searching, and communication. This initiative plays a crucial role in breaking the cycle of reoffending and enabling successful reintegration.
Our Minimum Spec for Laptops
While we appreciate every contribution, we do have particular specifications for devices that can be refurbished rather than recycled. Devices that meet our refurbishment criteria, such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets in good working condition, allow us to extend their lifecycle and maximise their impact. These devices undergo thorough evaluation, repair, and sanitisation processes, ensuring they are ready to be redistributed to those in need. If your device meets the refurbishment requirements, it can directly contribute to our mission of ending digital poverty and empowering communities. Rest assured, any devices that do not meet the refurbishment criteria will still be responsibly recycled, minimising environmental impact.
